Pgpool-II is available in both binary and source formats to suit different user needs.

Pre-built binary packages are provided for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and compatible distributions, allowing you to install Pgpool-II quickly and easily without the need for compilation. The Pgpool Global Development Group currently provides binary packages in RPM format only.

If you are using an APT-based system (such as Debian or Ubuntu), please use the packages provided by the PostgreSQL community.

For users who prefer customization or need to build Pgpool in a specific environment, the source code is also available. You can download it from here, or access the Pgpool-II Git repository directly.
