[pgpool-general: 3375] Log: "WARNING: failed to execute regex matching, pattern is NULL"

I'm seeing this kind of records once in a while in pgpool.log , any idea on
why do they mean?

pgpool-II version 3.4.0 (tataraboshi)
master-slave (streaming replication) + load balancing
